The Project
Custom Built Boot Room And Utility Room Designed To Meet Clients Equestrian And Canine Needs!
Transformation of some old outbuildings attached to the main house had already been started when Austin John Interiors were instructed to design custom built boot room and utility room storage solutions.
The brief was to accommodate space for horses rugs, long boots and space to accommodate some tack, along with storage for every day coats, shoes, hats and gloves… but to look stylish and be practical and sturdy enough to take some knocks and bumps!
Not long after the conversation to design the boot room and utility room we were instructed to continue the building and structural alterations with a full project management service for the trades already instructed. The benefits to our client was to hand over the running of the project to our team, followed by the interior design and project management of the boot room and utility room, including new shower room, to Nikki Austin.
Our skilled joiners constructed a custom stable door and new window for the side of the building, finished in Farrow and Ball paint. The exterior of the building was constructed with block and render, while using some of the original bricks for architectural detail, and adding a canopy over the door is a practical feature when the weather turns
Opposite the wall of storage, we have designed and built bespoke utility room furniture, accommodating washing machine, tumble dryer and enough storage for all the associated paraphernalia we gather with having horses and dogs! The Belfast sink with its swan neck tap is a great place for bathing dogs, the deep sink allows our clients small dogs to bathe in comfort, while being at a good standing level for humans!
The bespoke boot room and utility room for an equestrian property was a pleasure to design and build, and I am sure you will agree it is an enviable space.
